Registering

Cinderella 2009 is scheduled for April 4th, 2009. We will mail the registration forms during the week of January 19th, 2009. We accept them in order of return postmark date, not arrival date. All registered Cinderella Classic 2008 riders, as well as those women who missed the 2008 cut-off, are already on our 2009 mailing list. We mail a bright green confirmation card in mid-February to all registered riders.

The Alameda County Fairgrounds is a terrific place to stage an event as popular as our Cinderella Classic Bicycle Ride. While they offer convenient parking, you will want to arrive an hour or two before the ride so that you can check your bike, make sure you have everything you need, etc.

Fly Over the Cinderella Routes!

Using Google Earth, you can simulate soaring over the entire Cinderella Classic and Cinderella Challenge routes as if you were in an airplane! Read the simple instructions below to download Google Earth (it’s free!) and to soar over the two routes!

  1. Download and install your free copy of Google Earth.
  2. After you have installed Google Earth, click either of these links to soar over the Cinderella Classic or Cinderella Challenge course.
  3. Google Earth will start and you’ll see a pink route on the map. Over near the left edge of your browser window, click the little plus sign adjacent to My Places, then click the plus sign adjacent to Cinder. Click the plus sign adjacent to Tracks, then select the Cinder07 link. Your soaring adventure should begin after you press the play button just below and to the right of the Cinder07 link (the play button has a little black triangle on it)
  4. By the way - since Cinderella always occurs in the spring, the scenery you will see during the ride is MUCH more green than what you’ll see in these photos! In the spring it’s green everywhere!
  5. You can e-mail your questions to our webmaster if you have any problems with Google Earth or the Cinderella files, or if you need to know who to vote for in November...

All registered Cinderella Classic 2008 riders, as well as those women who missed the 2008 cut-off, are already on our 2009 mailing list. To place your name on the Cinderella Classic / Challenge 2009 mailing list fill out this form with your USPS mailing information. We do not offer on-line registration or payment. The Cinderella Classic / Challege 2009 is scheduled for April 4th. 2009 registration forms will mail the week of January 19th 2009. We sell out in 5 - 6 days.

Donations

Each year the Valley Spokesmen Bicycle Club donates a portion of the Cinderella Classic proceeds to women’s organizations. Last year we made donations to the following organizations. Similar women’s groups will receive donations in 2009.
