HAPPY 44th BIRTHDAY VALLEY SPOKESMEN! We'll have two separate V.S. Birthday rides and then get together for the BBQ. We'll have a longer ride and one that cuts off some distance and especially hills. The shorter option is a perfect ride for novices or those just returning to cycling! Please note that both rides start at 9:30 AM this year.
The Anniversary Ride and BBQ will be hosted at Kathy Koos' house located at 1864 Sannita Court in Pleasanton. Please let her know if you'll be attending so she can alert the gate to let you in. If you're riding to her house, just go directly there.
This ride is a Tour of the Lakes of Livermore and Pleasanton. We will begin the ride from Kathy's house and head out towards Little Tuscany. The ride will continue up Wetmore towards Holdener Park and then onto Concannon towards Mines. We will then ascend Mines towards Del Valle, descend into the park for a quick regroup and then ascend out of the park. The ride will return to Concannon and then proceed towards Shadow Cliffs. Please be sure to bring plenty of fluids and food. However, please note there will be water and restrooms available at both lakes.
For those of you wanting a shorter and flatter ride, you can omit the climb to Del Valle and continue on the route as planned.
ALL are welcome for the barbeque, drinks plus cake and ice cream following the ride! If you're staying for the BBQ or plan on attending the BBQ, please R.S.V.P to Bonnie so we can estimate food needs. Online registration is optional, but you are encouraged to use it if it's more convenient.
