2/3 – L/M 43 miles. 9:30 a.m.
This ride starts from Alcalanes High School in Lafayette. We begin with a climb up and over Reliz Valley Rd. We then head out to Alhambra Valley Rd. and up Pig Farm. A re-group at the top is optional. From there we will head into Pinole for our 1st rest stop at Peet’s Coffee in the Pinole Valley Shopping Center. We will then take Appian Wy. to San Pablo Dam Rd. down to our 2nd rest stop at Starbucks in the Orinda Theatre Square. From there we head home via Moraga and St. Mary’s Rd.
Directions to Alcalanes High
Heading West on Hwy 24: take the Pleasant Hill Rd/Mt Diablo Blvd exit. Keep right and merge onto Pleasant Hill Rd. The school will be on your right.
Heading East on Hwy 24: Exit Pleasant Hill Rd and keep left at the fork to go towards Pleasant Hill. Circle around onto Pleasant Hill Rd and the school will be on your right.
Ride start time is 9:30 a.m. If morning rain is in the forecast I will send a notice to the VS list pushing it back by a couple of hours. Please watch your email that morning.
