Canceled due to rain
3-4, M/B 44 - 76 miles, 4.2-7.7K climbing 8:30 a.m.
Mt. Hamilton, via Quimby, to Livermore
Option B: Full route at a moderate pace
Option C: Out and back to the top of Hamilton
This is an advanced ride up Mt. Hamilton. Depending on which route you choose will dictate your starting point. For those of you wanting to do the entire route (note this route is a one way trip), it will be necessary to arrange for carpools to return to vehicles in San Jose. We will be able to shuttle one cyclist to the staging area. Please arrange for your own car pools and feel free to stage from my house if you'd like. We will be leaving from our home at 8:30 a.m.
If you'd like to do an out and back on Hamilton, we plan on leaving from the staging area (Alum Rock at SR 130) at 9:30 a.m.
Please note this is a strenuous climb with very limited resources. There is a Cal Fire station just before the bridge that provides water to cyclists. There are also water and restrooms at the Joseph Grant park and at the top of Mt. Hamilton. If you decide to descend into Livermore, the next opportunity for refueling will be at the Junction Café.
Rain cancels the ride. I will post a notice by 7:00 a.m. on the status of the ride.
