Let's show Caltrans and the CHP the Bay Bridge Bike Path is safe at night. After spending millions to build this bike path Caltrans decided that no one should ride on it between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM, for "safety" reasons. Now Caltrans is willing to have a ten-day window to allow bicyclists and pedestrians to use the path 24/7 from May 10 through May 18. Bicyclists need to show CalTrans that keeping the path open 24/7 is not a problem. Come and help prove the point by joining Karen and Derek for a group ride on: Tuesday, May 15, 2018 Time: 9:00 PM Meet At: MacArthur BART Station Plaza We will ride out 40th Street on Oakland's and Emeryville's beautiful bike lanes to Ikea and then the path to the bridge. It's an out to the island and back. Be sure your bike has a functioning headlight and a tail light. Dress warmly. RSVP would be great, but not required. Let's have some fun!
