Join us on a trip to Tucson, Arizona in late February. We will be there from February 21 to February 28 for a fixed based riding adventure. The drive to Tucson is approximately 13 hours but you can fly and rent a bike and a car.
Note: You must be fully vaccinated against Covid 19 (including a booster) to attend this event. We will be in close proximity to each other and need to be as safe as possible.

DATES: Arriving Tucson on February 21. Checking out of hotel and heading home on February 28th.
HOTEL: Hampton Inn & Suites, 251 Wilmont Rd. in Tucson AZ – 520-514-0500
To reserve a double queen room for 2, for 7 nights call the front desk 520-514-0500 and tell them that you are with the Valley Spokesmen Tour de Tucson and want to book a room for February 21 through 27, checking out on February 28th. You must tell them you are with the VS Tour de Tucson to get our group rate of $170.95 per night, including taxes & fees. (Total cost computed as follows - our agreement is for $149 a night plus state tax at 6.05%, city bed tax of 6% and $4, per room per night – totaling $21.94). The reservation may be canceled 24 hours prior to arrival – check with the hotel for details regarding their cancellation policy. Bikes are allowed in rooms but you will be responsible for any damage. We have 20 rooms reserved so if you plan to go you should book early. Our group rate will be held until January 24, 2022 or until all rooms are reserved. The rate was negotiated based on a 7 night stay. If you want to stay for less than 7 nights your cost may be higher.

The Hotel has a heated outdoor pool but no hot tub.

OTHER HOTEL CHOICES: If an outdoor hot tub is important to you check the La Quinta Inn by Wyndham East, 6404 East Broadway in Tucson AZ – 520-747-1414. The parking lot of the Hampton Inn and La Quinta are adjacent, so group met ups will be convenient. The La Quinta has a heated pool and a big outdoor hot tub which is very nice after a long ride.
NOTE: We stay in the eastern part of Tucson (at these hotels) because of their close location to main bike trails and the many restaurant choices within walking distance. There are other hotel choices if you want to look around the area but most rides will start from the La Quinta/Hampton Inn Location.

RIDING OPTIONS: There are a lot of good rides in Tucson - flat rides as well as climbs. We will choose rides between 35 and 60 miles. Many rides are out and back, so they can be shortened. There is a loop trail around Tucson, so we will start most of the rides from the hotel, but a car will be necessary for rides up Mt. Lemmon and Kitt Peak. All routes will be available on the VS Ride with GPS site. You will be notified when they are posted.
