Route has 1/2 mile of very rideable gravel just after the Cantelow climb at about mile 44. 28mm or 32mm tires recommended.
There will be a Brief stop at mile 30 at a Safeway and another at a Chevron station at mile 61.
RIDE STARTS AT 7:30 a.m. - Brisk Pace - 69 miles
This ride will leave from the Martinez AMTRAK station (by flag pole) at 7:30 a.m. The ride host plans to take no more than 4-1/2 hours to reach Davis and then return to Martinez on the 12:10 Amtrak train.
The ride is restricted to 15 people due to limited bike rack space on AMTRAK

No services between Fairfield and Dixon (30 mile stretch!) so please plan accordingly and bring sufficient water and food.

Trains leave Davis at 12:10 p.m., 2:10 p.m. and 4:10 p.m. The train trip back to Martinez is 45 minutes.
You should purchase train tickets in advance. If you do purchase train tickets in advance, you should wait to make sure the weather will be good on Wednesday and the ride won’t be cancelled. If the air quality turns bad the $16 Adult ticket is 100% refundable if cancelled before departure.
