Bob Powers Memorial Bench
The Bob Powers bench will be memorialized in conjunction with the "Iron Horse Nature Valley Open Space-North of Amador Valley" dedication on January 24th beginning at 10 am.
Phase 1 of the Iron Horse Nature Park and Open Space will construct the first 1700 feet of new park and add amenities beginning at the intersection of Amador Valley Boulevard and continuing northwesterly along a former railroad embankment and ending with a new connection into Stagecoach Park. This linear park will include a new path, benches, seat wall, bike rack, bike repair station, waste receptacle, shade structure, educational interpretive signage in three distinct amenity areas highlighting the existing oak trees, wetland areas, and the history of the former railroad line through the site.
The location is on the Iron Horse trail north of Amador Valley Blvd. Look for the new black top section running parallel to the existing Iron Horse Trail. Bob's bench has been placed on a concrete pad with a bicycle repair stand next to the bench.
