Mt Diablo Challenge Training - AFTER WORK
RIDE DETAILS
We will start by going part of the way, steadily increasing the distance each week until we make it to the top! This is an out and back route so each rider can ride as far as they wish at their own pace before turning around for the descent back to the parking area.
There are hardly any cars on Mount Diablo on weekday evenings - you are likely to see more cyclists than cars. I recommend you have the following to make your ride safe and comfortable:
Equipment:
- Front and read light
- Water
- Food
Clothing:
- Visor or cap with a visor as the evening sun can be low on the horizon
- Wind jacket as the temperature on the mountain can be windy and significantly cooler. Plus you will need it on the descent.
- Gloves. You will be applying brakes for most of the ride back down.
