RIDE DETAILS — San Francisco Bakery Tour
Come join us for a memorable ride through some of San Francisco’s most scenic neighborhoods—paired with stops at a few of the city’s finest bakeries. We’ll roll out from the San Francisco Ferry Building at 9:30 a.m., heading toward Fisherman’s Wharf, the Presidio, the Legion of Honor, the Great Highway, Lake Merced, and Twin Peaks.
This is a social ride, but don’t be fooled—it includes some epic climbs and rewarding vistas. Staying with the group is important, as several turns can be easy to miss, making it possible to get off course. Along the way, we’ll stop at 3–4 bakeries to sample some of San Francisco’s best offerings.
Bring your camera (your phone works perfectly) and a bag—you may want to take home something special. A favorite? A loaf of Tartine’s Country Sourdough—delicious, and yes, a bit weighty!
Route Options
- Full Route (43 miles): Includes the climb up Twin Peaks.
- Alternate Route: Skips Twin Peaks. If you choose this option, plan to stop at Creighton’s café—an ideal regroup point where you can wait for the Twin Peaks riders before continuing together.
Shorter Option:
If 43 miles feels like too much, you can hop on Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) at Glen Park (near O’Shaughnessy) for a 33-mile ride. This option avoids some inner-city riding but misses the beautiful bayfront trail.
Getting There
We recommend taking BART for convenience.
If you're coming from San Ramon, Dublin, or Danville, consider departing from the Dublin/Pleasanton station to avoid transfers. The 8:12 a.m. train arrives in San Francisco at 8:57 a.m., giving you plenty of time to use the Ferry Building facilities and get ready for a 9:30 start.
Be sure to bring your Clipper card or use the BART app for tickets.
Bakery Stops
We’ll visit a selection of local favorites, including:
- Cinderella Bakery
- Tartine Inner Sunset
- Arizmendi Bakery Inner Sunset
- Tartine Manufactory
Post-Ride
After the ride, we’ll gather for lunch at Gott’s Roadside Ferry Building.
